BWY FOUNDATION COURSE (LEVEL 1)
To be held in Cardiff from May 2009

The next Foundation Course in Cardiff will commence in May 2009. The course will run on Sundays, beginning with a half day introductory session [9.30am-12noon], followed by one session per month for 10 months, 9.30am – 4.00pm.
The course focuses on basic practical techniques and personal development, taught in the context of the philosophy that underpins yoga. It is suitable for those who simply want to study yoga more deeply and establish a personal practice. The course is also the recommended precursor to the BWY Diploma course for those who want to train as yoga teachers.

BWY FOUNDATION COURSE (LEVEL 1)

Have you practiced yoga with a qualified teacher for two years or more? Do you want to know more about yoga? Are you interested in developing a personal yoga practice? Are you thinking about becoming a Yoga teacher in the future?
The next BWY Foundation Course will run from the summer of 2009 for about seven months. The course will be at Rock Chapel Vestry in Cwmavon, Port Talbot, one evening each week.

 Teacher Training Courses

BWY TEACHER TRAINING DIPLOMA
At last there will be a teacher training course in South Wales! This will be a residential course which will take place at the Hill Conference Centre in Abergavenny and will start in July 2009. The course will last for two years and students will meet bi-monthly from Friday evening to Sunday pm. The tutor will be Elaine Powell from Anglesey who is about to complete a similar residential course in the North. This has been a great success. This will be Elaine's 6th teacher training course. Abergavenny is on a main line station, so it is easy to access by train.

BWY TEACHER TRAINING DIPLOMA COURSE
To be held near Devises, Wiltshire with Debby Wilkinson
Venue is within easy reach of the M4 and M3/A303 and is in tranquil surroundings. Only 90 minutes from Cardiff. Meetings held monthly, a mixture of Saturdays and non-residential weekends over 2½ years. An Introductory Day is scheduled for September 2009. MANDALA YOGA ASHRAM YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COURSE, accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga. This is a residential course at the Ashram over 22 months, starting in September 2009. The course will give you the clear guidance and support to allow you to progressively deepen your Yoga practice and understanding. At the same time, it will give you the professional skills, practical knowledge and first hand experience to enable you to become a quality Yoga Teacher. The emphasis will be on awakening the faculties of each student, thus developing the capacity to transmit Yoga to others on a profound level. There will be a team of four experienced tutors, headed by Swamis Nishchalananda and Krishnapremananda.

 First aid training for yoga teachers
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING FIRST AID TRAINING
First aid training is now the responsibility of the BWY teacher and needs updating every three years. The course must be a recognised First Aid at Work course which will be of FIVE hours duration and the teacher will be able to claim FIVE points of CPD. BWY Insurance will be invalid if one's first aid certificate is out of date. Shorter courses such as Heartstart are not valid – they will still count towards CPD but the full 5 hour training is needed for insurance purposes. Thanks, Elaine Powell, RTO

FIRST AID COURSE, with Pauline Masters

This course will cover problems that may arise in the yoga class resulting from blood pressure, osteoporosis, arthritis, and so on., as well as the basic emergency first aid skills specialising in CPR, bleeding, shock, heart attack, and broken bones. You will be awarded a first aid certificate valid for 3 years, together with a first aid manual – also for BWY yoga teachers, this course will accrue 5CPD points. Course fees £45.00.
